Faith Over Fear: Encouragement for Moms During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
- Christian Single Mom Living: Faith, Family and Love
Scripture: Joshua 1:9 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
When Courage Looks Like Getting Up Each Day
October paints the world pink — a symbol of strength, resilience, and love. For many moms, Breast Cancer Awareness Month isn’t just a campaign; it’s personal. This is something I know all to well. Whether you’re walking through your own diagnosis, standing beside a loved one, or honoring someone’s memory, this season reminds us that courage isn’t the absence of fear — it’s moving forward despite it.
Every test result, doctor’s visit, and sleepless night becomes a chance to cling tighter to God’s promises.
You don’t have to feel brave to be brave. Sometimes, courage is simply choosing to keep faith when everything inside you trembles.
God’s Presence in the Valley
When Joshua faced uncertainty, God didn’t promise an easy path — He promised His presence.
“Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Those words echo through hospital rooms, prayer circles, and tear-stained pillows. They remind us that no diagnosis, treatment, or outcome can separate us from His care.
God’s presence isn’t just near you — it’s within you.
Even in fear, His strength rises. Even in weakness, His grace sustains.
Faith-Filled Ways to Encourage a Mom Battling Breast Cancer
If you or someone you love is walking this journey, here are a few ways to nurture faith and hope:
Send a prayer card or verse daily reminder — small words can speak big peace.
Offer practical help: meals, childcare, or simply listening without advice.
Create a “Faith Over Fear” basket with comforting items — cozy socks, a journal, herbal tea, and a note of encouragement.
Pray aloud with her — reminding her that she’s never fighting alone.
And if you are that mom, know this: You are held. You are seen. You are not forgotten.
Scripture to Hold Onto

— Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Father God,
We lift up every woman facing breast cancer today.
Surround her with Your peace that surpasses understanding.
Give her strength when she feels weary, and courage when fear whispers loud.
Let her know she is never alone — You walk with her every step.
Bring healing, hope, and light to her heart.
In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
